Term: Full-time, Continuing (contingent-funded), funded for 12 months
The Centre for Indigenous Policy Research (CIPR) is Australia’s pre-eminent social science research body focusing on First Nations social and economic policy. CIPR is part of POLIS, the ANU Centre for Social Policy Research (POLIS). POLIS is home to six other research centres, enabling CIPR to work across disciplines and sectors, including government, community, business and education. This interdisciplinary and collaborative space enables CIPR to address and make a difference in the challenges of today's society. The selected candidate will work as part of the Centre's research team by undertaking literature reviews, data coding, qualitative analysis and drafting reports. They will be involved in a number of projects and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and provide assistance with the design and conduct of qualitative research studies in the Centre
POLIS is located in the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) and provides national leadership in the study of Australian society. POLIS has a focus on data, research methods and their application to understanding important economic and social issues and policy responses. Its activities are underpinned by academic excellence and innovation in empirical social science research, large-scale data management expertise, an ability to contribute to public policy development and a track record of delivering large-scale contracted and commissioned projects.
THe ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both. We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and three ARC Laureates.
